SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Apple Inc has tied up through NetComm Limited, a developer of broadband technology, to launch the latter’s pocket-sized mobile 3G WiFi router.

Weighing at 77g, the router has integrated lithium-ion battery delivers efficiency for up to six hours of operation and 40 hours whilst useless. The router, MyZone, positioned between a 3G USB modem and a 3G router, decision be available at Apple Retail Stores from 31 May.

David Stewart, managing director, NetComm, related: “In addition to its performance and lightweight design, a key prominent part of the MyZone is its superior battery life. The MyZone employs NetComm’s “Smart Connect” technology that preloads the MyZone by carrier connection information, meaning customers can connect to their 3G network with minimal configuration.”

Similar to a 3G USB Modem, the MyZone is consolidate and portable yet has the ability to connect multiple devices, combining the most of all of both worlds into one unit.

MyZone can support up to ten wireless devices concurrently so as notebooks, smartphones, cameras and gaming consoles.

The company claims that the project, compatible with all Australian 3G networks and approximately 150 global 3G networks, Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems, delivers download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps and upload speeds of 5.76Mbps in quest of large file transfers.

The MyZone platform supports 3G Tri-band 850MHz, 1900MHz, and 2100MHz during the term of local and international services.

The MyZone will be exclusively available at Apple supplies and Apple’s online store in Australia for 8 weeks conducive to $299.
