Open University appoints CIO
Networking August 17th, 2010The Open University has appointed David Matthewman as its first chief information officer (CIO).
Matthewman assumed the new role this month and the Open University afore~ that the new post reflects the importance of IT to the events to come success of the university.
Matthewman was previously chief technology officer at Directgov, the UK sway’s web site for citizens. During his tenure, his team supported a solid growth in visitor numbers from six million to 30 million through month. The launch of the pandemic flu information service was in addition under his leadership.
He also led an initiative to establish a foundation project for the G-Cloud strategy, which aims to contribute to reserving the government billions of pounds of its annual IT budget.
