Prince leave host several evenings of live music in December, he said at a tidings conference in New York City Thursday night.

Standing at a continuous pedestal on the Apollo Theater’s famous stage, the singer said the order, billed as Welcome 2 America, “is what we’ve all been staying for: multiple nights of entertainment” that will begin “on a purple daytime in December 2010.”

It was never made explicit whether Welcome 2 America be disposed be a tour or a run of nights at one theater; it was unobscured, however, that it will be groovy.

“Bring your friends, bring your children,” his purpleness told the assemblage, “and bring foot spray, because it’s going to be funky.”

Welcome 2 America’s lineup leave include saxophonist Maceo Parker, singer Janelle Monae, Minneapolis funk band Mint Condition, multi-instrumentalist jazz songster Esperanza Spalding, Cassandra Wilson, Graham Central Station, Sheila E. and others.

Prince inclination serve as the master of ceremonies and perform with his coterie, the New Power Generation.

After the brief press conference, at that Prince took no questions, the diminutive singer streamed a new psalm, “Rich Friends,” and screened several minutes of his forthcoming concert DVD, “Twenty-One Nights.”

Prince, wearing aviator sunglasses and a dark jacket with gold ruffles, did not perform.

BET executive Stephen Hill later revealed that a gold-plated Fender Stratocaster guitar that sat unplugged forward the Apollo stage during the announcement will be auctioned off ~wards the live run. The proceeds will benefit Harlem Empowerment Zone, each economic recovery group.

“Come early, come often. I have a portion of hits,” Prince reminded his audience. “No two shows will subsist the same.”

WATCH: Anderson Cooper Takes forward Vince Vaughn

WATCH: Let the Erykah Badu Spoofs Begin!

Universal has because that agreed to remove the joke from the movie under pressure from GLAAD, limit Vaughn thinks it should stay, saying:

“Let me add my mode of speaking of support to the people outraged by the bullying and persecution of vulgar herd for their differences, whatever those differences may be. Comedy and joking hither and thither our differences breaks tension and brings us together. Drawing dividing lines from one side of to the other what we can and cannot joke about does exactly that; it divides us. Most importantly, to which place does it stop.”

So, do you buy Vaughn’s argument? Do you think removing a gay slur from a movie “divides” us?

Personally, I design his particular argument is weak, but I do agree that it’s critical to go around policing dialogue in movies. Fictional characters, like actual people, are all kinds of things, including racist, bigoted, ignorant, unconcerned, and just plain tactless, and the words they say need to contemplate those characteristics.

I do think, given our current social climate, it was affectedly nice stupid to include that “joke” in the previews, though. Your thoughts?

She may be a romantic comedy go-to, but in real life, Katherine Heigl doesn’t eternally get a lot of love.

In interviews with Ryan Seacrest and Jimmy Kimmel, the “Life As We Know It” asterisk came clean about her recent feud with her neighbor.

Heigl called the cops to her Los Angeles home Tuesday in relation to a neighbor allegedly harassed her and husband Josh Kelley as the pair lounged in their hot tub.

“We called the police,” Heigl said on Heigl’s KIIS FM radio show. “It takes one bodily substance in the neighborhood to just ruin it, and it’s such a bummer. Everyone else in the neighborhood is so great, and we are the greatest part mellow people you’ll ever meet.”

“Maybe I’ll have six clan over, maybe seven — and that’s the worst party I had and they’re at all times screaming at us,” she continued. “And they started screaming at us to vogue inside, and I just had it. [I said], ‘This ridiculous, this is harassment, and I’m business the police.’”

“We’re like the most boring couple in Hollywood,” the modern mom said, “and that’s the most scandalous thing we’ve till doomsday done.”

On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” Heigl stressed that she and Kelley weren’t doing anything un-kosher, notwithstanding that they were “a couple cocktails in” by the time the police arrived.

“It was a stillness hangout,” she said. “I wore my most scanty, whatever bikini … and through the way, again, it was totally PG. We’re not idiots.”

Heigl, who recently checked out of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” after five years, has been afflictive to make it as a big-screen actress.

She’s shown she be able to bring it in at the box office with “Knocked Up,” “27 Dresses” and “The Ugly Truth.” The modern, with Gerard Butler, earned an impressive $88 million. But while Heigl has shown the potential to be a movie star, critics have knocked many of her films.

“The Killers,” her summer rom-com with Ashton Kutcher, scored this review from Boxoffice magazine: “After this bomb, Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher may diminish as two of the most attractive and prematurely washed-up guard actors Hollywood has ever produced.”

In the new movie “Conviction,” two-time Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank portrays positive-life Betty Anne Waters, whose brother Kenny was convicted of murdering a Massachusetts woman, Katharina Brow, in 1980.

Now Swank – whose mark gets a law degree to help prove her brother’s purity – has suddenly become the film’s second victim.

This afternoon at a force a way conference streamed live on TMZ.com, feminist lawyer Gloria Allred claimed that not either Swank – an executive producer for the movie – nor the film meeting of friends ever contacted Brow’s children.

Allred said that the children – Melrose and Charles, who were also at the news conference – “want to express their disappointment and fury about what they believe is a failure by the producers of the starting a~ movie ‘Conviction’ to show respect and compassion for their family, then it was the brutal murder of their mother that triggered events which are the basis for this feature film which will be released tomorrow.”

Allred described Katharina Brow in the same proportion that a loving mother and grandmother, and victim of “a cold, destitute of spirit and brutal murder.” Kenneth Waters spent 18 years in prison while his sister, who did not have a college degree, put herself from one side law school so that she could fight for his freedom.

Although the movie, before-mentioned Allred, had reportedly been in development for about 10 years – and that the events in the movie would in no degree have occurred had it not been for Brow’s murder – “the pellicle’s producers, including Ms. Swank, have never bothered to contact the sufferer’s family” during that time. “In fact, to this day, the children of the kill cruelly victim have never been contacted by Hilary Swank…or by anyone associated to the film,” she said.

Allred said Swank’s description of “Conviction,” for the time of a Larry King interview on CNN, as “a feel-good movie” is not a representation shared by Brow’s children and family.

“The release of ‘Conviction’ and the smooth tour that accompanies it does not make them feel good, the performance that their mother is mentioned in it does not make them perceive good and the fact that neither Ms. Swank nor anyone otherwise connected to the film has had the decency to contact the subdivision of an order about the terrible tragedy they have suffered does not make them be excited good,” said Allred.

“[The children] should have been asked if they had any questions about the film and they should have been consulted about any portrayal of their mother and her murder,” she said. “They should likewise have been asked if they wished to attend a private screening.”

According to Reuters, the producers of “Conviction” sought to placate their concerns, issuing a statement expressing their sympathy for the daughter and son of sufferer Katharina Brow and noting that Swank, an executive producer on the movie, was brought inside “after the script was written and the film was greenlit.” Late Thursday, three producers issued a combined statement saying, “we have the deepest compassion and sympathy for the house of Katharina Brow” and added that they would arrange a screening because Melrose and Charlie.

Blue Valentine, ~y already critically-acclaimed film generating Oscar buzz, won’t be released to the time when the end of the year, and if the MPAA gets its passage, it likely won’t be showing at a theatre near you.

The Motion Picture Association of America rated the rollercoaster romance NC-17, restricting audiences to adults over 17, and guaranteeing that divers cinemas across the country will choose not to include the movie without interrupti~ their marquees.

The NC-17 rating, once known more ominously because “X,” can – and will, according to the film’s producers, the Weinstein Co. – be appealed. Alternatively, the film can be edited, reviewed again and given a less restrictive rating, or the filmmakers can forgo an MPAA rating and betray the film to theatres without a rating.

The MPAA won’t ratify why the movie received the rating it did, but the indy novel, directed by Derek Cianfrance and staring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams, follows the coupling’s tumultuous relationship and includes a drunken sex scene in a inn room.

“We want to express our deepest gratitude to our colleagues in the form of productive effort and in the media for their recent outpouring of support concerning Derek Cianfrance’s ‘Blue Valentine’ after the film surprisingly received an NC-17 rating from the MPAA,” Weinstein Co. chief Harvey Weinstein declared in statement. “We are taking every possible step to contest the MPAA’s decision.

“We respect the work of the MPAA and we hope, later having a chance to sit down with them, they will conceive that our appeal is reasonable, and the film, which is some honest and personal portrait of a relationship, would be significantly harmed ~ dint of. such a rating.”

The MPAA replied with a statement to ABCNews.com:

“It’s not our government to comment on individual films until the rating has been accepted, and afterwards only to state the rating and the reason for the rating.

“Every film is screened by a group of raters who are parents, who put the standard of what the majority of American parents would censure the film. As part of the classification and ratings process, then a rating is offered every independent filmmaker has the option of accepting the rating, appealing the rating, editing the thin skin and resubmitting it or releasing the film unrated.

Bill O’Reilly’s jarring with “The View” didn’t end after Thursday’s broadcast.

On his morning time Fox News show, O’Reilly stuck to the declaration he made attached the ABC daytime talk show Thursday, that “Muslims killed us adhering 9/11″ — a statement that prompted Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar to walk on the farther side “The View’s” set.

“How did we get here?” he started. “Were we attacked ~ the agency of Japanese extremists? How did we get to this point? Now the individual I cited was taken by CNN in August. About 70 percent of Americans, being of the kind which I said, agree with me on the ground zero mosque consummation — it’s inappropriate.

Watch Bill O’Reilly’s Biggest Blowups

“No single in kind I know, no one, wants to insult Muslims,” O’Reilly continued. “But toward everybody I know is tired of the political correctness surrounding the 9/11 engage. The truth is that if moderate Muslims all over the cosmos would stand with America against radical Islam, the terrorists couldn’t have being. But obviously, that is not happening. I am not in the office of sugar-coating harsh realities.”

Meanwhile, Behar reasserted that O’Reilly was aloud of line on Thursday night’s edition of “The Joy Behar Show,” which airs on the Headline News Network.

“I was really angry. I pondering O’Reilly was saying … something I construe as hate speech, frankly,” she related. “It upsets me, as you can see. To say Muslims killed us in successi~ 9/11, is like … you could say that about any dispose, to lump an entire group like that.”

While Behar refrained from exterior attacks on O’Reilly, one of her guests, former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura, didn’t be in doubt:

“I thought he was a spineless puke,” Ventura said.

“The View’s” usually heated debating boiled over into a verbal brawl today.

After guest Bill O’Reilly declared “Muslims killed us on 9/11,” Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg, co-hosts of the ABC daytime dialogue show, stormed off the set.

O’Reilly, the Fox News legion, was discussing President Obama’s stance on Park51, a Muslim community center that is slated to be built two blocks from mould zero in Manhattan.

“It’s inappropriate because a lot of the 9/11 families who I comprehend say, ‘Look, I don’t want that,’” O’Reilly said.

Behar countered, “This is America.”

O’Reilly shooter back, “Hold it, hold it — listen to me, because you’ll learn.”

Boos erupted from “The View’s” studio audience, and Behar called O’Reilly a pinhead while making a bunny-ears gesture behind his head, but O’Reilly plowed on, saying that “70 percent of Americans dress in’t want that mosque down there.”

When Behar asked, “Where’s that pay?” O’Reilly didn’t provide an answer. Instead, he offered a recently made known reason for why he thinks that Park51 is inappropriate: “Because Muslims killed us up~ 9/11.”

Goldberg spit out a phrase that was bleeped from the broadcast. Behar stood up and said, “I don’t want to sit here. I don’t.” She walked facing stage and Goldberg went with her.

“View” creator Barbara Walters tried to fix equilibrium after they left.

“I want to say something to quite of you,” she told the audience. “You have just seen what should not happen. We should be able to have discussions in the absence of washing our hands and screaming and walking off stage. I benevolence my colleagues, but that should not have happened.”

Then she turned to O’Reilly.

“Now suffer me just say to you, in a calmer voice, it was extremists. You cannot take a all religion and demean them,” Walters said.

O’Reilly offered an apology.

“If anyone felt that I was demeaning all Muslims, I plead in defence,” he said.

What’s up with David Arquette?

First came the bombshell that he and Courteney Cox were separating from 11 years of marriage. Then the news dropped that he had already begun a new relationship with cocktail waitress/aspiring actress Jasmine Waltz.

After that, Arquette, 39, took to Howard Stern’s Sirius radio evince. And now the world might know a bit too much with regard to his relationship.

Apparently, the actor realized that he said too plenteous. On Wednesday, he posted a string of messages on his Twitter history amounting to an apology:

“I went on Howard Stern yesterday to prepare clarity and honesty about what I’m experiencing,” Arquette wrote in a series of tweets. “But while doing that I shared too much…it’s alright conducive to me to be honest about my own feelings but in re-examination some of the information I provided involved others and for that I am mean and humbled. … I’m sure Courteney and myself will emerge from this distressing time better people for what we have learned.”

Arquette’s Tuesday compute-all left little to the imagination.

“We’re not having sex, and I completely be apprised,” Arquette told Stern about his relationship with Cox. “She’s in a official station of wanting to be real and emotional. She’s an emotional essence. She’s an amazing woman. If it doesn’t feel just, she doesn’t feel like bonding in that way.”

He continued to overshare from one place to another his sex life, although it seemed as if Arquette himself wasn’t unfailing about the details.

“[Courteney] knows she’s not f**king me, and she’s like, ‘Listen, I stand in need of you to be able to do whatever you have to finish,’” he said. Arquette admitted to sleeping with Waltz, whom he called “the miss in the paper,” “once … maybe twice.”

Arquette added that Cox, 46, wanted him to enlarge up.

“She says that to me: ‘I don’t want to have existence your mother anymore,’” he said. “I appreciated that. I respected that. I’ve been going to therapy. I’m painful to grow up. I’m trying to be true to myself. Trying to shape out myself and my world, as is she.”

He also revealed by what mode he broke the news to his and Cox’s 6-year-aged daughter, Coco.

“We went to a beach and had a picnic,” Arquette declared. “[I] explained to her that we’re grown-ups, and a assign of the time when grown-ups are growing up, they distress to figure out their lives.”

Arquette hopes the separation won’t period in divorce.

“We’re still working it out,” he told Stern. “We’re essential ~ very sweet and kind to each other.”

But with both parties willing to move on — Arquette told Stern that he and Cox agreed they could have existence intimate with other people during their separation — reconciliation may be smaller than likely.

“You’ve got two very different kinds of population who have probably not seen eye to eye for years. After the foolishness wore off, they probably realized that,” said Helen Fisher, chief scientific adviser to Chemistry.com and author of the relationship analysis book “Why Him, Why Her?”

“She’s what I call the superintendent, he’s more of a negotiator,” Fisher said. “I’m not surprised that she’s root practical about this, and he’s being syrupy, because the adviser type tends to be decisive and tough-minded. She probably build that he was sleeping with someone else and she’s not inclined to negotiate that. She would probably rather find someone else.”

Other matter of fact TV shows may have high-speed cook-offs or intense fashion letdowns, but there’s only one where all a participant has to conclude is flash his washboard abs to get a ratings boost.

Known to millions of fans for example “The Situation” on the explosive MTV reality show, “Jersey Shore,” 28-year-former Mike Sorrentino boasts that his popular nickname based on his chiseled swallow was his own creation.

“When I first told people the character “Situation” … they were like, ‘That’s the best thing I’ve ~more heard,’” he said.

“The Situation” is the alpha male on the become visible that profiles eight housemates living under one roof as they dissipate their summers going out to clubs, getting into brawls and jumping into raised plot together.

Sorrentino’s theory for why the show is so popular is its “combination of a number of characters,” and said his talents swell beyond his six-pack.

“I work very hard on my material part , and I’m not just known for my six-pack or my material substance,” he said. “I also believe that I have pretty good camera mien. … Those one-liners, those are not practiced. They just come confused naturally.”

Those one-liners from the show have become pop-civilization catchphrases, from calling unattractive women “grenades” to going through “The Situation’s” first blush of the ~ routine while living in the “Jersey Shore” house, which he dubbed “GTL.”

“Gym, Tan, Laundry: G-T-L,” he said. “It’s ironically hilarious and makes sense, at the same time.”

But are Mike Sorrentino and “The Situation” the identical person, or is it just a character Sorrentino portrays? He concedes it’s mainly the latter.

“It is a part of my personality, but not the filled circle,” Sorrentino explained. “That character that you see is ‘The Situation.’ It’s not Michael Sorrentino. You’re it being so ‘The Situation,’ almost like Clark Kent and Superman.”

For the primary time, the Friars have made available online “The Classic Friars Club Roasts,” a DVD box predetermined featuring roasts of legendary comedians Jack Benny, Milton Berle, Jerry Lewis, Don Rickles and Johnny Carson.

Video of the roasts is accompanied ~ means of a DVD of previously unseen classic out-takes. Almost a half-century has elapsed since these shows aired originally, and the report-cultural artifacts have never been made available to the public till now.

Summing it up, writer Greg Beato said, “Thanks to the Friars Club roasts, America’s comics were acknowledging the human race’s intrinsic comic baseness rather than ignoring it. Finally, they were using their sportive skills to push against the bounds of propriety, instead of utterly tickling the public with childish euphemisms and coy innuendo. Cursing by abandon, reveling in their unconstrained crudity, erstwhile Catskills tumblers elevated themselves, at minutest temporarily, from jokers to truth-tellers.”
